BUENOS AIRES (Reuters) - Argentina's Charly Alberti, the drummer for the now defunct rock band Soda Stereo, said Wednesday his music Web site Yeyeye.com had received $10 million from a group of investors led by Chase Capital Partners. Alberti, who spoke to Reuters from New York, where he is one of a group of high-tech executives accompanying President Fernando de la Rua on a trip through the United States, said the money would be used to expand and improve the site. Yeyeye.com offers news, MP3s, videos and games related to Latin American and international music. ``We're going to use the money to grow, be that with publicity or whatever, and to improve the product,'' said the chief executive, who has also been a long-time computer enthusiast.``A lot of people in Latin America first heard about the Internet from me,'' he said. Chase Capital Partners, Chase Capital Entertainment Partners and Next Inter made the investment for an undisclosed percentage of the company. Alberti said Yeyeye.com had 20 million page views per month and offices in Buenos Aires, Mexico City, Chile and Sao Paulo. It is also opening offices in Miami, Los Angeles and New York City. Yeyeye.com's Portuguese-language version aimed at Latin America's biggest market, Brazil, is expected to start in one to two months, he added.
